The Minecraft Earth servers worth your time in October 2026 are a short list: EarthMC, the long-running geopolitical server that reset to a new map this year; EarthPol, the closest like-for-like alternative; Emerald Earth, which layers skills and custom items on its map; and the small community Earth worlds on Minehut. LibreMC, the calm no-war server that old Reddit recruiting posts and listing sites still advertise, has shut down.
Pick by what you liked about EarthMC. The same game on a different server: EarthPol. More systems: Emerald Earth. A quieter world: Minehut, though small usually means nearly empty. Real war: EarthMC has none by design, and we couldn't verify current war rules for the others, so start with our siege and conquest servers list instead.
The bar: survival on a scaled map of Earth, playable on Java Edition, with status checked on October 5, 2026 against the server's own site or, where that failed, dated listings. Community threads name plenty of other Earth servers; we couldn't confirm any of them is running, so they're not here.
What Is a Minecraft Earth Server?
A survival server on a fixed-size, scaled-down map of the real world, where players found towns, band them into nations and compete for land. That's why the genre also goes by "geopolitical server", "Earth SMP" or "nations server" — the terms are interchangeable. Minehut's Earth category describes the convention as maps scaled between 1:500 and 1:1000, mostly running the Towny claims plugin.
Because the map is fixed, land is finite and the best spots fill up. That explains most of the genre's complaints, from claimed-out continents to the steady stream of "looking for a calmer Earth server" posts on r/MinecraftServer. For the wider backstory, see our history of Minecraft servers.
EarthMC: The Benchmark, Drawbacks Included
EarthMC calls itself a Java Edition geopolitical sandbox. Its docs, checked October 5, 2026, say it runs 1.21.11 on Folia-based software built for up to 800 concurrent players, on a 128k × 64k-block map. The economy is player-run gold ingots with no admin shops, and the paid Premium rank is cosmetic only — you can't buy progress.
The map has reset three times: 2018, 2022 and 2026. The current map, Terra Nostra, opened to Premium early access on April 17, 2026 and to everyone on May 1, replacing Terra Aurora. EarthMC said at the time that it was four times larger than the last map and that a hardware upgrade had avoided login queues — welcome news on a server where the queue was a running community joke. It turned ten on August 21, 2026.
Unusually, EarthMC publishes an honest list of its own drawbacks:
- It's hosted in Europe, so distant players get latency.
- Popular areas go static — claimed out and hard to settle.
- No traditional wars. The operator says tying progress to PvP is unsustainable because cheat clients give too much leverage, so conflicts are settled through diplomacy. A war system "might be introduced in the future."
Status (October 5, 2026): alive. Bedrock: unconfirmed — we couldn't verify crossplay either way.
Same Game, Different Server: EarthPol
EarthPol is another geopolitical Earth server and the nearest thing here to a straight swap. Its own site wouldn't render for us on October 5, 2026 — a tooling problem, not evidence it's down — so these numbers come from listings, not from EarthPol. Multiple dated 2026 listings report a 1:326 map on 26.1.2; one stale listing still shows 1.17.1 and 1:217. In a January 2026 blog post, EarthPol called its current version the longest-running in its five-year history (its own claim).
Weakness: we can't independently confirm its population, uptime, Bedrock support or war rules, and listings that quote hard numbers contradict each other. Status: shown as operating and actively updated across 2026-dated listings; activity not directly verified.
More Than a Map: Emerald Earth
Running since August 14, 2020, through several iterations and reboots, Emerald Earth adds a custom shop, custom items and enchantments, skills and abilities, and ranks to its Earth map and gold economy. If skills are the real draw, our best Minecraft RPG servers list goes deeper. It's the one named server here with confirmed crossplay: Java players join at mc.emeraldearth.us, Bedrock players on port 19132 via Geyser.
Weakness: it lists version 1.21.1+, behind EarthMC's 1.21.11 and EarthPol's reported 26.1.2, so check your client first. Its war history is in our siege list, but we didn't re-verify current war rules. Status (October 5, 2026): alive — its site lists a current IP, an active Discord, a named owner (AlyQT), a support email, and wiki, store, rules and leaderboard pages.
Smaller and Calmer: Minehut's Earth Servers
"Looking for a calmer Towny Earth server?" is a recurring r/MinecraftServer post title, and Minehut's Earth category is where the small community answers live: maps usually 1:500–1:1000, mostly Towny, Java + Bedrock crossplay common.
Weakness: calm usually means empty — the servers we sampled in October 2026 had single-digit populations. Status (checked October 2026): the category lists running servers, but every one we sampled was small.
Shut Down: LibreMC
LibreMC pitched itself as the answer to "no-war Earth server": its listing copy describes a 1:750 Towny Earth map with no PvP war and a gold economy. Its operator was still recruiting on r/MinecraftServer on October 14, 2025, on 1.21.8. A comment on a near-identical post reads: "Server closes in 2 weeks. RIP Libre." On October 5, 2026, a server tracker showed it at 0% uptime. We couldn't pin down an exact shutdown date, and several listing sites still advertise it as live — stale ad copy, not evidence anyone is online.

Minecraft Earth Server FAQ
What is the best Minecraft Earth server?
For most players, EarthMC: ten years running, a map only months old, cosmetic-only monetization, and drawbacks it states up front. Pick EarthPol for the same kind of game elsewhere, Emerald Earth for skills and crossplay, a Minehut server for quiet.
Is EarthMC still active?
Yes. Terra Nostra opened to the public on May 1, 2026, the server turned ten on August 21, 2026, and its docs were live when we checked on October 5, 2026.
What version is EarthMC?
Java 1.21.11, per its docs as of October 5, 2026.
Can Bedrock players join Earth servers?
Some. Emerald Earth supports Bedrock via Geyser on port 19132, and crossplay is common on Minehut's Earth servers. We couldn't confirm it for EarthMC or EarthPol.
Where MCRPG Fits
MCRPG has no real-world map. But if what you liked about EarthMC was the nation-building rather than the geography, that's the part it's built around: you found a settlement with a pylon, grow it from village to metropolis with active, paying residents, and fund it through rent and tax into its own treasury, all on a single gold ledger. Unlike EarthMC, cities can change hands by force — an attacker stakes a war bond and has to win the siege, and the treasury goes with the city. MCRPG is a Java Edition server with a launch date of October 16, 2026; the settlements guide explains how cities work, and the sieges guide covers war bonds.
