A Minecraft Lifesteal server is a PvP server where kills and deaths move hearts: kill a player and you gain a heart, die and you lose one. The four Minecraft Lifesteal servers below are the public Java servers we could confirm running Lifesteal on their own websites in late October 2026: Lifesteal Network, LifeSteal SMP, Netherite and PikaNetwork's OP Lifesteal.
If you came here from the YouTube series, one thing first: the original Lifesteal SMP is described on the community wiki as a private content server with no public IP. Every server here is a public server that runs the same idea. One of them shares the name, and community sources tie another to the original SMP, which is where most of the confusion comes from.
How Lifesteal servers work (and where they differ)
The core loop is the same everywhere. Netherite puts it plainly: every kill steals a heart from your victim and adds it to your max health. LifeSteal SMP says the same in fewer words. The details are where servers diverge, so these are the criteria we judged on:
- What happens at zero hearts. On the servers that state it, running out means a temporary ban, not a wipe: one day on Netherite, 24 hours on Pika. Lifesteal Network and LifeSteal SMP did not state their rule on the pages we read.
- How hearts come back. Lifesteal Network and Pika let you craft a Heart item; Netherite lets you withdraw spare hearts as an item instead. Check this before you commit, because it decides whether a bad streak is recoverable.
- Heart caps. A cap keeps one strong player from snowballing out of reach. Pika states one (40 hearts, 60 with prestige), and Lifesteal Network's Heart item only works up to your maximum allowed hearts. The other two give no number on the pages we read.
- Anti-combat-log. If players can dodge a losing fight by slipping away, hearts stop meaning much. Pika's October update lists fixes for players escaping combat through portals, pearls and chorus fruit; the pages we read for the other three don't mention it.
- Base protection. Claims and raid rules (Lifesteal Network) versus an open "your base can be raided" survival world (Pika's guide says so directly).
- Seasons and resets. A reset wipes the hearts you spent weeks winning. Only Pika states a seasonal schedule.
- Vanilla or plugin-heavy. Custom enchants, classes and bosses change the fight more than the heart rule does.
- Fair-play rules. Lifesteal Network, for example, bans hacked clients, minimaps, health indicators and freecam, with an autoclicker allowance under 10 CPS.
Lifesteal Network (lifesteal.net)
This is the server community sources point to as the public face of the original SMP. The community wiki and server-list descriptions call it the official public server of Lifesteal SMP, created and owned by Reddoons and Leow0ok. Its own pages that we read never mention the original SMP, so treat the link as community-described.
It is not vanilla. Land is claim-based: you claim with /claimchest, and if the claim chest is destroyed the claim is lost. Extra chunks cost coins (5,000 for the first, 5,000 more for each one after). A claim Shield protects against raids, stores up to 24 hours and takes 15 minutes to deploy. Attackers get raid tools: Claim Finder, Raid TNT, Drill, Cannon, Lockpick and Raid Sponge.
Hearts are craftable. The Heart item uses rare materials such as nether stars, diamond blocks and totems, and you right-click it for +1 heart up to your allowed maximum. There is also a Tree of Life prestige system: you need 20 hearts to prestige, it trades in half your hearts for permanent upgrades, and there are roughly 100 upgrades.
Weak spots: the zero-heart rule, reset schedule and Java version are not stated on the pages we read. Status: live in late October 2026. Join: the site header shows lifesteal.net; we couldn't find a written "IP" line, so confirm on the site. A paid Java account is required.
LifeSteal SMP (lifestealsmp.com)
Despite the name, this is an independent public server. Its footer says it is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft, and it never claims a tie to the original YouTube SMP. It calls itself a public semi-vanilla server with a heart-stealing feature added.
The extras lean toward organised PvP: clans, raid bases, leaderboards, public Sword, Mace and Crystal arenas, and /duel from 1v1 to 4v4 with custom settings such as keep inventory, elytra and pearl cooldown. There are weekly and daily events, a Credits economy earned by farming and the Auction House, and a credit shop for ranks and crate keys. EU and NA share one server but run separate worlds.
Weak spots: zero-heart and revive rules aren't stated on the pages we read, so ask on its Discord first. Status: live in late October 2026. Version: the site says it runs the latest Minecraft version and Java players can join from 1.21 onwards. Join: lifestealsmp.com. It is public with no whitelist, and cracked accounts can't join.
Netherite (lifesteal.netherite.gg)
Netherite is a network with Lifesteal, Skyblock, Survival and Prison, free to join with no whitelist. The Lifesteal mode is the most clearly documented of the four. You start with 10 hearts, which is also the floor for withdrawing. A kill steals one heart. Hit zero and you're banned for one day. Spare hearts can be withdrawn as a physical Heart item, and Life Prestige trades 15 hearts for a permanent +1 life slot.
It's plugin-heavy: clans with roles and alliances, six KOTH arenas, 32 custom abilities, 100+ custom enchants, and a free-for-all warzone with a Protection 5 netherite loadout. A weekly clan leaderboard resets Wednesday 8 PM and pays gift cards to the top three clans. There's an optional store.
Weak spots: no season schedule is stated, and no firm Java version either; the marketing copy only mentions 1.21. Status: live in late October 2026. Join: lifesteal.netherite.gg.
PikaNetwork OP Lifesteal
PikaNetwork (founded 2014) runs OP Lifesteal as a seasonal mode, and it's the heaviest of the four on custom content: Refined and Arcane enchants, skills, classes, pets, levels and bosses (Zeus, Kronos, Atlas, Hades). There are no claims. The server's own guide warns your base will always be at risk of being raided. Teams exist, and teammates can't damage each other by default.
Hearts: without prestige you can hold at most 40, and /prestige converts Heart Containers into Prestige Heart Containers, up to a 60-heart cap. Hearts are craftable from 4 Boss Soul Fragments, 4 Totems of Undying and a Netherite Sword. Run out and you're banned from Lifesteal for 24 hours.
Resets are the catch. A new season was released on October 24, 2026, after a reset on July 24, 2026. A reset removes your team and builds, inventory and ender chest, currencies, stats, levels and seasonal ranks; purchased ranks and perks stay. Pika also lists combat-escape fixes (portals, pearls and chorus fruit) in its October update, which is a good sign for anti-combat-log. The season runs Minecraft 26.2 per the server, and older versions can still join; Java 26.3 is the latest release, per the Minecraft Wiki on 29 October 2026. Status: live in late October 2026. Join with play.pika-network.net and use the /register flow.
Community-reported: on Pika's forum in October 2026 one player asked staff to keep Lifesteal vanilla and drop custom world generation, saying many players dislike custom biomes. The store sells ranks and crate keys; we make no pay-to-win claim either way.

"Not stated" means the pages we read didn't say, not that the server has no rule. All four were live in late October 2026. We quote no player counts, because they change by the hour.
How to choose
- You want something close to vanilla: LifeSteal SMP calls itself semi-vanilla. None of the four is pure vanilla.
- You want a gear-and-bosses grind with a fresh start every few months: Pika OP Lifesteal. Accept the resets.
- You want to build a base you can defend: Lifesteal Network's claim and Shield system is the only one of the four that documents base protection.
- You want clear, written rules before you play: Netherite states its start hearts, floor, ban length and prestige cost on one page.
- Team or solo: Netherite and Pika document teams and clans; LifeSteal SMP has clans too. None of the four says how solo play holds up, so we don't rank them for it.
Bedrock players: LifeSteal SMP and Netherite state Bedrock support (port 19132) alongside Java. This page covers Java only.
FAQ
What is the IP of LifeSteal SMP?
For the public server at lifestealsmp.com, the address is lifestealsmp.com for Java. That server is independent. The original YouTube SMP is described as private and has no public IP; Lifesteal Network (lifesteal.net) is the public server community sources associate with it.
What Minecraft servers have Lifesteal?
Lifesteal Network, LifeSteal SMP, Netherite and PikaNetwork's OP Lifesteal all run it on their own sites. Directories list more, but we only included servers whose own sites confirm it.
What happens at zero hearts?
Where stated, a temporary ban: one day on Netherite, 24 hours on Pika. Rules differ by server.
If you like high-stakes PvP
Lifesteal is about personal risk. MCRPG (coming soon) puts PvP at the settlement level instead: attackers buy a war bond and fight over a pylon. It's a different format, covered in our sieges guide. For more PvP picks, see our all-time PvP server list, the Factions server roundup and the siege PvP servers list.
