Join the Server
Add play.mcrpg.com in your Minecraft: Java Edition server list and connect. A resource pack with the server's custom item models is delivered automatically — accept it when prompted. No mods are required.
The Protected Spawn
You arrive in the central spawn hub, a fully protected zone where no one can harm you. Take your time here: meet other players, browse the market, and get your bearings before heading out.
The PvP Ring
Around spawn lies a larger ring where PvP is enabled but carries no consequences — dying simply returns you to spawn. It's the place to practice fighting other players without permanent stakes.
Launch Points
When you're ready, use one of the launch points at spawn. Each teleports you to a varied location in the wilderness, so players spread out across the world instead of funneling out from one edge.
Distance Is Difficulty
The single most important rule of the world: the further you travel from spawn, the stronger the monsters become. There are no level gates — geography is the progression curve. A weak player who wanders too deep simply dies; one who survives has earned what they find there.
Risk Pays
Hunting somewhere genuinely dangerous for your level — with no stronger player nearby to carry you — quietly improves your drops, and weights them toward the rare end. The world rewards courage. It never tells you by how much.
Your First Essence
Custom monsters grant XP and drop essences — the items that define your character. Some essences drop commonly in the shallows, so you'll have your first within your opening sessions, by drop or by a cheap market purchase. Using an essence is permanent, so read the warning before you commit — but your first essence's abilities work the moment you take it.
Dying
Death sends you back to spawn. Deep-zone farming above your level is naturally throttled by how often the deep kills you — there's no artificial cap on what you can earn out there.
Your Free Character
Every account gets one free character, and it can be reset. Treat it as your learning character: make mistakes, explore the essence system, and reset once you know what build you actually want. Additional permanent character slots are available to paying players — extra builds, never extra power.
