Introdution

World Edit is a Minecraft spigot plugin which allows an easier option of building, terraforming, and creating Minecraft maps. However, World Edit commands can become fairly complicated and the purpose of this guide is to teach you about all of them. Feel free to use World Edit on mcbuild.org!

Configuration

In order to make sure you don't occur catastrophic server failures while using World Edit; it is always a good idea to make a block limit for yourself. World Edit allows you to do this in-game via this command:

//limit <number> - Sets the block limit. Depending on the size of your creation you can adjust it but 1,000 is a good starting rule of thumb.

alt text

Region Selections

For most World Edit commands the first thing you need to have ready is the region you'd like to apply the command to. There are several for you to do this.

Option 1: //wand - This command gives you the default editing wand (wooden axe). Left click with this tool to select position 1 and right click to selection position 2.
alt text Use /toggleeditwant to disable the wand's world edit capability.

Option 2: //hpos1 and //hpos2 - The direction you are looking in will be where the position is set.
alt text

Option 3: //pos1 [x,y,z] and //pos2 [x,y,z] - Sets the first and second position to the coordinates set in the parameters.
alt text

Option 4: //chunk - Makes the chunk you are currently in your selection.
alt text

With this, you can modify the region by using the following commands:

1: //expand <amount> - Expands the selection by x amount of blocks in the direction you are looking in by default.
2: //contract <amount> - Contracts the selection by x amount of blocks in the direction you are looking by default.

You can also specify the direction:

1: //expand <amount> [direction]
2: //contract <amount> [direction]
Possible directions are: north, south, east, west.
alt text alt text

PRO Tip: //size will give you the size of the selected region.

If you are new to the server or want to learn more about it, click on each question to see the answer.

What is MCRPG?

MCRPG is a combination of MCPVP’s Raid and HG servers! You can build bases, create markets, and track players, BUT … The most important part to you, the player, is your score. Using Rupees you mine, you can get random artifacts, these give you different abilities when held in your ‘off hand’. These can give you anything from the power of flight to being able to tame wolves!

How do I play?

When you first connect to mcrpg.com , you will begin with some basic items, from there your mission is to get Rupees. Rupees are represented by Emerald Ore and are used to:

  • Create warps
  • Obtain new artifacts
  • Create structures
  • Break into structures
  • Get onto the leaderboard!

How do I get Rupees?

There are 2 ways to get Rupee’s!
The easiest way is to go to 0,0 as this is where the Rupee mine is, you can mine as much Rupees as you want but be careful as you may not be the only player there.

The second way is by killing players, when you kill another player 20% of their Rupees gets given to you! (If you die, you lose 10% of your rupees 5% if you're VIP )

Can I give someone Rupees?
If you want to give a player rupees, you can do so by doing /pay [playerName] [amount] , you will have to pay a 10% transaction fee though! VIP's do not have to pay the transaction fee.

What are artifacts?

Artifacts are powerful magical items that are randomly awarded to you when you reach certain scores. There are 4 levels of artifacts. Level 1 artifacts are the least powerful and easiest to obtain. Level 4 artifacts are the most powerful and by far the hardest to obtain.
See more about them here: http://forum.mcrpg.com/t/artifacts/1322

What is score?
Score is what you need to get to the top of the leaderboards! Each Season the player with the highest score at the end wins, see our current prize here. Score is gained by mining rupees and killing players, when you kill a player you receive 10% of their score (20% if you're VIP).

How do I build a structure?

Place Iron Blocks next to each other. The iron blocks must be directly adjacent (North, East, South, West, Up, or Down) - they cannot be diagonally adjacent.

<img src='/uploads/default/original/1X/28b4d5b5795670e04b2df3920f0c8e4c27fb5cb3.png'>

An invisible protective cube forms around your structure, as illustrated by these white stained glass blocks.

After you have built your structure, type /structure create [Rupee] [name], then click on one of the iron blocks of your structure. The name can be anything you like, and the Rupee is the amount you want to invest in the structure. There must be at least 1 Rupee invested per iron block in the structure. See more about structures here: http://www.mcrpg.com/help/structures/

I want my Rupees out of my structure!

Only the owner of the structure can get rupees out of the structure. When the owner of a structure mines an iron block from the structure, the owner is given back the rupees value of that block as well. You are only able to get 25% of the originally invested rupees.

You can read some strategies on structures here: http://blog.minecraftmistborn.com/structures/

Is there an economy?
MCRPG has its own economy system and you can use it to buy and sell items! This is useful if you don't fancy going mining, want some OP gear without having to enchant it yourself or just want to use your rupees.
Read about all the commands and features of our economy system here: http://www.mcrpg.com/help/economy/

What is a warp?

Warps are a way to quickly get around the MCRPG world, you can use them to get from one section of the map to another. Warps cost Rupees to create, the further the warp range the more expensive it is to make. To make a warp type the command /warp set [name] [range], this will give your warp a name and a range from your current location.
The range is how far away you can access your warp from e.g. 1000 range means you can use your warp from up to 1000 blocks away from your warp point.

Need to know more on warps? Just look here: http://www.mcrpg.com/minecraft-pvp//warps/

Can I get a free warp?
You get two free warps when you start MCRPG, these are your home and HQ warps.

Do /warp set home to set your home warp. You can access this warp from anywhere on the map, and it costs nothing to create.
Do /warp set hq to set your team's HQ warp. Any member of the team can set this warp at any time. This warp is free and can be accessed anywhere on the map by any member of your team

How do I track another player?
To track another player you need to build a tracker. You can build a temporary tracker which uses 'easier materials' or make a permanent one. The size of the tracker determines how many blocks away it can track a player.

Read more here: http://www.mcrpg.com/minecraft-pvp/tracking/

Want to see how well you’re playing?

MCRPG has it’s very own leaderboards! These show who has the most Rupees, who has the most kills and so on. Make sure to check where you are: http://www.mcrpg.com/leaderboards

Which players are staff?

You can see which players are staff by checking out our staff list on the forums: http://forum.mcrpg.com/t/mcrpg-staff-list/64

Can I make a team?

Yes, you can make a team with up to 5 players! Advantages of a team are that you can make team warps and you can toggle friendly fire (so you can’t hurt your teammates when fighting). With new additions to teams being added daily, keep updated here: http://www.mcrpg.com/minecraft-pvp//teams/

How do I make a team?

  • /team create [name] [password] - Create a team.
  • /team join [name] [password] - Joins a team
  • /team info - Gives you info about your team
  • /team warp transfer [warpName] [newName] - Transfers a warp you control to your team

As the creator of my team, do I get any special commands?
The person who creates the team is given Team Admin, only Team Admins can perform these commands.

  • /team kick [player] - Kicks the specified player from your team.
  • /team admin [player] - Gives this player admin permissions. These permissions cannot be revoked!
  • /team settings enablepvp - Enable PVP between team members (friendly fire is on)
  • /team settings disablepvp - Disable PVP between team members (friendly fire is off)
  • /team settings enablejoin - Allow players with the correct password to join your team
  • /team settings disablejoin - Do not allow any players to join your team

Are there premium ranks?
Currently the only purchasable rank is VIP! With VIP you only lose 5% of your rupees when you die, you receive 20% of a players score when they die, you get a green name in chat and more!
Buy VIP here: http://www.mcrpg.com/vip

What is the DEATH mob?
DEATH is a mob that spawns around the rupee fields. When you reach 500 score, they begin to attack you to try and stop you mining rupees. If you kill a DEATH mob in the fields you receive 50 score and an iron block, but be wary as they can spawn behind you at any moment!

MCPVP had soup, does this?
At this moment in time, MCRPG does not use the soup-heal system MCPVP used in their server, and there are currently no plans to use it.

Do you have any other servers?
We don't just have MCRPG, we also have a build server for all your creative needs. Just use the ip mcbuild.org and get building!

There are two different types of trackers: permanent and temporary. Permanent trackers consist of a diamond block, obsidian, and a gold block for the tips. A temporary tracker consist of an obsidian block, cobblestone, and smooth stone for the tips.

Trackers Top: Temporary Tracker Bottom: Permanent Tracker

Each block on the tracker adds 25 blocks to track the player. You can make the tracker as large as you'd like, there's no limit.

Different Sizes

The trackers don't have to have the same size legs. This one tracks 25, 75, 200, and 275 in different directions.

Although temporary trackers are cheaper to make, they can only be used one time. Once you use them, they disappear. Also, temporary trackers can only be used to track one specific player (/track ) so you aren't able to use /track all (/track all can only be used on permanent trackers).

To track someone, you'll need them on two different directions (Only having one won't help you much). Since each block on the tracker is 25 blocks, you'll want to narrow it in to about 25x25. You can do this on a permanent tracker by moving the gold blocks in.

Tracking

You can see that moving the gold block in lowers the tracking region.

Good luck and happy raiding!

When a structure is under siege, there are a couple of consequences:

  • You only receive atium when you break iron blocks if the structure is under siege.
  • ALL structures permissions are public - anyone can enter the structure, break blocks, open inventories, etc.

The rationale behind this is simple. When you break into a structure, you need to be able to get your atium back, but the person whose structure you broke into needs to be able to fight back as well.

Important places

Server: mcrpg.com
Forums: http://forum.mcrpg.com
Teamspeak: ts.mcrpg.com
Twitter: @hclewk_ and @mcrpg_

The Basics

  • "Score" is what sets you apart from other players. A big high score means you are a badass. Increase your score by mining Rupees near spawn.
  • As your score increases, you'll earn powerful Artifacts that will actually make you a badass.
  • Rupees are the currency that runs everything. Rupees allow you to buy and sell stuff on the Economy, build Structures, break into Structures, and create Warps.
  • Once you earn an Artifact, hold the item in your offhand (press F) to use it.
  • Having a hard time getting out of spawn without dying? Try /wild.

What's the point?

To prove you are the best. You do that by getting a really high score, and just owning everyone with your killer artifacts. A high score is a lot harder to get than it seems, because the only place you can increase your score is the most contested place on the map - spawn. And if you die, your score is reset :(.

1.9?!

Yes, MCRPG is running minecraft 1.9. No, it doesn't suck, it's just not what you are used to. All those crazy sword-block-spamming, soup-drinking, pot-throwing skills you accumulated over the past few years are now useless. There are now better skills you have to acquire.

  • Patience - You can't spam click anymore. You now have to wait until your sword is recharged to get maximum damage.
  • Shields - You can no longer block, you have to use a shield. But let's be serious here, did block-hitting actually do anything? No. Shields are actually pretty useful.
  • Multiple Hits - You can now hit multiple enemies at the same time. Use it to your advantage.
  • Regen! - Fill up your food bar, and your health regenerates super fast. So instead of throwing a pot, or eating soup, back off from the battle and eat a piece of steak. Same effect.
  • Check out Minecraft PVP Tips for more tips and tricks!

Artifacts are powerful magical items that are randomly awarded to you when you reach certain scores. There are 4 levels of artifacts. Level 1 artifacts are the least powerful and easiest to obtain. Level 4 artifacts are the most powerful and by far the hardest to obtain.

How do I get artifacts?

When you mine ruppes near spawn, your score increases by 1 for each rupee mined. You are awarded a random level 1 artifact when you reach a score of 100. You can receive higher level artifacts (always awarded randomly) by reaching a higher score.

  • Level 1: 100 score
  • Level 2: 500 score
  • Level 3: 2500 score
  • Level 4: 10000 score

When you die, your score resets to 0, so be careful!

Can I lose an artifact?

An artifact is just like any other item in the game. It can be dropped, placed in a chest, etc. The only difference between an artifact an a normal item in this regard is that an artifact that is in use when you die will not be dropped - it will be removed from the game and lost forever.

How do I use artifacts?

If an artifact has a passive ability, that ability is in effect any time that artifact is held in your off hand. If an artifact has an active ability, you must hold the artifact in your off hand, and right click to activate the ability.

What artifacts are available?

Level 1
  • Alpha Wolf Pheromones - Any untamed wolf you attack will instantly become your pet.
  • Gillyweed - You can breathe underwater.
  • Bezoar - You are immune to poison.
  • Harmsway - Hit any player or mob to heal them 1/2 heart (cooldown 1 second).
  • Wings of Hermes - You do not take fall damage.
  • The Foot of a Hare - You get Speed I and Hunger II
  • Owl Eye - You get night vision
Level 2
  • Ancient Worm Poo - Any dirt you pick up when your food bar is not full will be consumed, giving you +1 food per dirt.
  • Bloodless - You will not take damage from projectiles (arrows, etc).
  • Fireman's Suit - You are immune to fire.
  • Fulgurite Talisman - You are immune to lightning.
  • Rotten Zombie Skull - While active, no mobs will target you. Mobs that targeted you before you equipped the Rotten Zombie Skull will still chase you.
Level 3
  • Bamf - Teleport to anywhere any projectile you shoot lands
  • Molten Body Armor - Any player or mob that hits you will be set on fire for 10 seconds. You are immune to fire.
  • Cloak of Invisibility - You get the invisibility effect
Level 4
  • Trinket of Retribution - Any melee attack on you that would result in your death is canceled. The attacker receives double the damage dealt to you.
  • Werewolf Serum - When equipped, any player you kill will turn in a werewolf to fight for you.

Warp Commands

All warp commands behave the same as normal, but will work on team warps as well. If a warp name conflicts, (you have a private warp named 'base' and a team warp named 'base' as well) you will only be able to perform actions on your personal warp. In the case of a conflict, you can still go to a team warp, by using the command /warp team [warpName].

How can I get rupees?

Rupees are represented on the map by Emerald Ore. Simply mine it, and your rupee reserve will increase by 1. Pickaxes with the Fortune enchantment increase the amount of rupee you get from mining.

There are 3 ways for you to get rupees.

The rupee mine

At 0,0 there is a large deposit of rupee. Go there and mine to your heart's content. But be wary of other players nearby!
Rupees

Killing other players

When you kill another player, 25% of their rupee reserve is distributed between all players within a 16 block radius of where they died.

Raiding bases

Finding and breaking into a well defended Structure is probably the most difficult, but most rewarding way to earn rupees. You must invest enough rupees to become the owner of the structure. Then you can demolish the structure to extract out all the rupees that has been invested in the structure. However(!), if the owner of the structure has invested more rupees in it than you can afford, you won't be able to get your rupees back out!

  • admin - Only your team's admins have access.
  • team - Only your fellow team members have access.
  • public - Everyone has access.

How can I break into a structure?

If a player's base is protected by a structure, you can still break into it! The "value" of a structure is the total amount of rupees that has been invested in it. Any player who has invested more than 50% of the total value of a structure becomes the owner of that structure. For 1 hour after a structure changes ownership, all permissions of that structure are public. During this hour, the new owner will be given a % of the structure value back for each iron block he mines. It is possible to recoup 100% of the structure value.

Examples

hclewk creates a structure, and initially invests 100 rupees. Lexie invests 101 rupees. The total value of the structure is now 201 rupees, and Lexie has invested about 50.2% of the rupees. She becomes the owner.

MassiveChoons creates a structure, and initially invests 100 rupees. Remkit tries to break in by investing 100 rupees. MassiveChoons still owns the structure, because Remkit must invest MORE THAN 50% to take it over. Now, BadBoyHalo invests 150 rupees. He also does not take over the structure, because the value of the structure is now 350 rupees, and he has only invested 150 (43%). Remkit now invests an additional 300 rupees, and he becomes the new owner, with 400 rupees invested out of 650 total value (61.5%).

How do I get back the rupees I have invested in a structure?

Only the owner of the structure can get rupees out of the structure. If a structure is "under siege" (has changed ownership in the last hour) you will receive a proportional % of the total value of the structure for each iron block you mine. It is possible to recoup the entire value of the structure.

If a structure is not under siege, you will only receive a 25% refund if you break all iron blocks in your structure.

How much rupees do I have to invest to take over this structure?

Only the owner of that structure knows. The advantage here goes to the defender. You do not know going in how much you have to invest to take over a structure. Rest assured though, once you take over the structure, you can recoup your investment by destroying all the iron blocks of the structure.

Structure Strategies

  • Stats - Right-click a structure you own to see the stats of your structure.
  • Team Investing for Defense - Create a base for your team, and have all your team mates invest in the structure. Your combined investments will make it that much harder for someone to break in.
  • Solo Investing for Attack - Investing as a team hurts more than it helps if you are trying to break into a structure. It's best for a single player to invest as much as possible.

  • Warps are private to the player who creates them (nobody else can see or use warps you create).
  • Warps cost rupees to create, and have a fixed "range".
  • The range of a warp is how far away you can be and still use the warp. If you set a range of 1000 blocks, you can be up to 1000 block away and teleport to the warp. If you are more than 1000 blocks away, the warp is unavailable.
  • Warps are not reset when you die.
  • The cost of a warp increases dramatically as range increases.
  • The more warps you have, the more it costs.
  • More, shorter warps always cost less than fewer larger warps. For example, ten 1,000 block warps (your first 10 warps) will cost 1,964 rupees to create; creating a single 10,000 block warp as your first warp, on the other hand, will cost you 19,169 rupees.

Commands

  • /warp set [name] [range] - Set a warp with the given name and range at your current location.
  • /warp upgrade [name] [new-range] - Increase the range of the specified warp.
  • /warp rename [name] [new-name] - Change the name of the specified warp.
  • /warp delete [name] - Delete this warp. You get half of your rupees back.
  • /warp cost [range] - Calculate how much it would cost to create a warp with the specified range.
  • /warp [name] - Go to the specified warp.
  • /warp list - List all your warps.

Coming Soon

  • [VIP ONLY] /warp chain [name] [warp1] [warp2] [warp3] [warp4] .... - Creates a "chain" of warps with the given name. For example you can do: /warp chain toStash rupees 1k stash Then when you run the command /warp toStash it would be the same as running: /warp rupees /warp 1k /warp stash. This is simply a convenience feature to save time.

In my last blogpost, I said that I would give specifics on gameplay later, and here we go. Please keep in mind that this is super subject to change as we actually experience increasingly larger scale gameplay in the Alpha and Beta stages.

This is (very loosly) based on the Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. If you haven't read them, do it! They are awesome. But this game is based on those novels about as much as HG was based on Hunger Games. You get the same feel, but none of the specifics are there - so reading the books won't actually give you an edge in gameplay or anything.

Minecraft Mistborn - Vin

Gameplay Objective

When the game starts, you are randomly (intelligently) dropped into a 10k x 10k world with some super basic supplies. At the center of the map is a large deposit of Atium (emerald ore). In a deviation from the books, the number of Atium blocks you have collected:

  1. Is your score, displayed on the website and in-game
  2. Determines the number of abilities you can have active

So, the more Atium (pronounced AY-tee-uhm) you collect, the more powerful you are. However there are a couple of caveats:

  • When you are killed, you lose ALL of your atium reserve, and 25% of that reserve is split between everyone within a 10 block radius of you.
  • Since you lose all your atium reserve when you die, you also lose all of your active abilities when you die.
  • If you have 1 or more active abilities, your location is shown on a map on the website at all times (though, there is an ability that lets you go invisible on the map when in use)
  • You earn your first active ability with 50 atium collected - however, you can choose your ability at any time after this. You will not show up on the website map until you actually assign your first ability. You can use this strategically to gain a stealth advantage until you have leveled up more.

So, the basic goal is to collect atium by either mining it at the center of the map, or by killing other players and stealing a portion of their atium. Since most of the atium is lost when killing other players, it's more efficient to mine it than to kill low-level players.

It's also worth mentioning that when you mine atium, the value is stored on your account. That is, it does not take up space in your inventory, and you can't give it away or store it anywhere. It is an inherent stat that is tied directly to your character.

Abilities

After you die (or when first spawning), you have no abilities. You earn your first ability once you collect your first 50 atium. After you collect your first 50 atium, you can choose an ability. Collecting more atium will allow you to choose additional abilities, but each successive ability will require significantly more atium. These numbers will require lots of testing to refine, but as an illustration:

1st ability: 50 atium
2nd ability: 250 atium
3rd ability: 1250 atium
4th ability: 6250 atium
5th ability: 31250 atium

All these abilities can be activated independently, or at the same time.

There are two types of abilities: Allomancy (/burn) and Feruchemy (/store and /use)

Allomancy

When using allomancy, you burn items. This means you must collect or craft a specific material, and when you toggle your ability on, it destroys those items in your inventory as a way to sustain the ability.

The strength of allomantic abilities cannot be adjusted. They always burn at the same rate and give the same benefit.

Some examples of abilities that utilize allomancy are: (these are very subject to change)
- Gunpowder: Do extra damage, have extra health (burns 1 every 10 seconds) - Sugar: Modest speed boost (burns 1 per second) - Mycelium: Hidden from the website map (burns 1 every 30 seconds)

Feruchemy

When using feruchemy, you store an ability for use later. So, you might /store healing, thereby slowly losing health over time so that you can later /use healing to heal yourself. This is a neutral ability. You give up something for a period of time to gain it later. However, the rate at which you store and use abilities can be adjusted. You might choose to /store health, losing 1/2 heart every 30 seconds for 10 minutes (10 hearts stored up), then later /use health, gaining 5 hearts per second for 2 seconds (used 10 of your stored hearts).

These feruchemical powers are not stored within your body, they are stored in metal minds. A metal mind is a crafted item (think two iron blocks crafted together). You must have a metal mind in your inventory to store or use it. Metal minds have a capacity depending on their levels, and can be upgraded to higher levels (and capacity) by using more resources.

There will be default /use and /store rates programmed in (fast, medium, and slow - tailored for each ability), but you will be able to fully customize your own rates on the website.

Some examples of abilities that utilize feruchemy are:

  • Store health (+1 per 1/2 heart lost), use health (-1 for each 1/2 heart gained)
  • Store strength (+1 for every hit against an enemy with damage dealt reduced by 1 heart), use strength (-1 for every hit against an enemy with damage dealt increased by 1 heart)
  • Store mining speed (+1 for each block broken for each 10% increase in time required), use mining speed (-1 for each block broken for each 10% decrease in time required)
  • Store hunger (+1 for each 1/2 food lost), use hunger (-1 for each 1/2 food gained)

And that's a basic overview of the gameplay. Feedback is welcomed. You can shoot me an email at hclewk@minecraftmistborn.com with any feedback you have. I think it will be a ton of fun to play, and it brings in a lot of new gameplay concepts. Thanks for the support!
